Manic Street Preachers – Stay Beautiful Lyrics 19 years ago
But then again the idea of Generation Terrorists was to sell a million albums and then disappear into obscurity. 8 albums, a "greatest hits" and a "secret history" later they're still going.

Not a very consistent message.

No, I'm sorry, I'm still laughing at this. Too funny.

Cos of course paying for an ambulance day-in, day-out is cheaper than a fence.

Pffft!

Oh jesus. Putting "An ambulance at the bottom of a cliff" rather than a fence at the top is a euphemism. It means fixing the symptoms rather than the cause of a problem.

It's a parable, not a true story you dumb fucks! Try not to take everything literally.

Pixies – Wave of Mutilation Lyrics 19 years ago
Funny you should bring up Japanese Businessmen, this song always reminds me of Haruki Murakami's novel "Dance Dance Dance".

One of the characters drives his car into the sea. The book talks about advanced capitalism where anything can be charged to a buiness expense account.

The Pale Fountains – ..From Across The Kitchen Table (Album) Lyrics 19 years ago
It's brilliant, I prefer Pacific Street as an album but this is far and away their best song.

Their songs are a bit like kitchen sink/domestic drama - like the the film Saturday Night Sunday Morning you mention or Look Back In Anger.
