i think its interesting that the voice is so muffled while the lyrics are being sung, like its coming from another place. I think this is cerpin's friends talking to him, after he dies, and cerpin can hear them. The line " do you come here... shiver around" seems to mean "do you still come back and visit and haunt us as a ghost?" This song would have been awesome as a hidden song at teh end of the album. like 3 or 4 minutes of silence after take the veil ends and then this song starts kicking in. that would have been bad ass. |

Here is my take, consistant with the book. Cerpin is a savior in this world he went to while in the coma. In the book, he was turned into a war machine/animal who, at the end of eriakata, he was killed and left buried in the desert. When he was uneathered, he was burned and buried under a statue. He later was brought back as a ghost named moatilliata, who aveneged the people of Metacarpi by killing hte derelict king. The giants who "unearthed" him refereed to him as the Hex Zero Rouge, some sort of chosen one. The end of this song is when he wakes from the coma. In the book, he has nightmares that the people still need him, that he is there savior and his work isnt done. They want him to come back and claim his throne. Cerpin is an anagram(or whatever that word is) for prince. This is why he kills himself at the end. |

| In the book, at this point, Cerpin is in an abandoned sub floating around in the middle of nowhere. Theres other abandoned subs and military planes and shit crashing all around and serious storms happening outside. He stays in the sub for shelter while he is searching for someone else and/or an exit to this place. He can hear muted voises systematically like every couple of minutes, but they dont seem to be coming from anywhere. I have the most trouble connecting the book to this song. If it wasnt for the book, I would have almost no interpretaions of this song. So confusing.... | |

OK. enouph of the "is TMV a good band" talk. This is for those who have read the book (or interested in reading it) because i would like to discuss this more seriously. "I'm lost" obviously means that hes now in the coma and doent know whats goin on "last night I heard lepors flinch like birth defects it's musk was fecal in origin as the words dribbled off of its chin it said I'm lost" In the book the 1st thing he describes after going under is some sort of consil of lepers who sentence him. to this journey he's about to go on. This verse describes that. I dont know what the second verse means. Clipseside of the pinkeye fountain" means that bad side of a morhine injection... an overdose. pinkeye describes stcking the neddle in your arm. "are you peaking in the red perforated at the neck" I think here that he's wondering whats goin on. Is he peaking on that drugs(pink to red). Or maybe he lost his mind (hense the head chopped off of his body). "you'll be the first and last to know you'll never know " you probably know when your fucked up enouph to be slipping into a coma... but in real life you are never supposed to have any recollection of being in it... so your the last to know about it... or you die and you never know. |
