| System of a Down – Science (feat. Arto Tunçboyacıyan) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| It's a good song, even if the lyrics are totally incorrect. It would be more accurate to say "the misapplication of engineering and technology has failed our Mother Earth", but that doesn't fit the meter as well. | |
| Soul Coughing – St. Louise Is Listening Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Some time ago, a friend of mine and I (not knowing about the Louise Brooks connection) were speculating on what the song was about. I think the conclusion we eventually reached was that it was about a man who hired a prostitute but felt guilty about it later due to his Catholic upbringing. | |
| Björk – Oceanía Lyrics | 19 years ago |

From bjork.com: "Basically, the Olympics people asked me to do a kind of 'Ebony and Ivory' or 'We Are the World' type song. Those are smashing tunes and all that, but I thought, 'Maybe there's another angle to this.' ...the song is all about how the ocean doesn't see boundaries between countries and thinks everyone is the same." |

| Voltaire – Ringo No Uta Lyrics | 19 years ago |

The spacing and romanization of the words as given in the song booklet is a little funny - it would more normally be written something like: akai ringo ni kuchibiru yosette damatte miteiru aoi sora ringo wa nanimo iwanai keredo ringo no kimochi wa yoku wakaru ringo kawaii ya, kawaii ya ringo Here's my attempt at a rough gloss: I bring a red apple to my lips The blue sky silently watching Though the apple says nothing I understand its feelings well The apple is lovely, a lovely apple The original song has at least three more verses after this one, too. |
