for the longest time i unquestioningly thought this song was about being cynical and not being able to get the goodness out of you, that perhaps you think is burdensome and useless and frustrating. then one day a couple years after i first heard it i realized it might be the total opposite, about having good in you and not being able to bring it to the surface. and of course after looking at the lyrics again and reading what people have to say, it could have just as much to do with other people and the good in them. but i think ill always still see it as the first way. i dont know why. great song. |

i looove this song. it makes me so happy. and it reminds me of this one day where my boyfriend and i went hiking up here near my school, and it was effin gorgeous.. (steep cliffs with rocks all piled up).
and the part about 'there are no bad words for the coast today' reminds me of home and like sending a message home that im doing well here.
plus my boyfriend claims to like long lines and on the way up to go hiking that day i mentioned the Palisades mall and he asked 'what's a palisade?' i swear. |

at first, i thought fight club.. but wow i just read A Clockwork Orange and i cant get it out of my head that it matches great with this song. whatever the singer was really talkin about, i still think it matches great with the book. there was a hospital part and everythin. |
