| The song is about living with bipolar disorder and how it can take over someone's life. Scott Weiland, the singer for the band suffers from this. It opens with "my friend blue he runs the show" or depression, "with hot pink pirple china glow" mania. If you pay attention to the lyrics, most lines are opposite from the one before it. "Cartoons like reality. Dogs and cats and children. The deepest wound is hidden." He seems to be describing that everything is fine, but then it is followed later by "comatose commodity...children cryin" comatose is a feeling of death depression has taken over and the commodity is something of value. So everything of value has no feeling anymore. He talks about "it's all so confusing" as are the emotions that come along with bipolar disorder. | |
