| Against Me! – Two Coffins Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| I feel like this song was written for Laura's daughter, but I'm still trying grasp it's meaning. | |
| Big D and the Kids Table – Souped-Up Vinyl Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I seriously cannot get enough of this song. I worked in the most god awful job for ages, and was the only competent person at the place. This song exemplifies my EXACT feelings for that place. My music and my friends are the only reasons I am not legally insane right now. I know that sounds kind of lame, but its so true. This is such a great song, and one of the best albums I've heard in years. | |
| Streetlight Manifesto – What a Wicked Gang Are We... Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
This song sounds political to me. As opposed to the usual, "...blah, blah, blah, Screw Bush, blah, blah, blah" boring outcry, SM takes down the whole damned democracy with them. "Ah! My Dear! My tis of thee!" is really the line that gives it away to me, with "tis of thee" alluding to "My country tis of thee" The song, I believe, is telling you that the war we're in right now is a catalyst to America's decline, hence the line: "Oh! This sinking ship will only hold its course for just so long Eventually, that's when they'll see everything is wrong" Also: "Everyone is the one until the one falls down Then we're all just 'please please please'" I think the one refers to "An army of one", describing our armed forces. So once the "one" soldier of a once gun-ho family eager to war after the events of 9/11, when Bush's approval ratings were through the roof, dies, everyone is desperate to get out, and change sides, because they're willingness to get into war was foolhardy, with people thinking that their country's war wouldn't affect them. Sorry, that was a mouthful, but there was more in those two lines than I thought. That's my two cents. |

| Streetlight Manifesto – The Receiving End of it All Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Honestly, the first time I really listened to and heard this song, I figured it was about two people in a doomed relationship, because each of them shared the same pain of their father leaving them ("And when he left us, he said ,'It's not so bad'/That motherf^*%er, he took everything we had" I think the rest of the song alludes to, and revolves around that experience, and the man and woman's mutual pain and emotional scars lead to their eventual downfall. Looking back, I still say that's a pretty good assessment. |

| Against Me! – We Laugh at Danger (And Break All the Rules) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
This song is about Tom's love of music, and playing music. I thought it was pretty obvious from the first lines: It was a birthday gift of a Mexican Telecaster From this day on, I will play along to all my Young Pioneers records It's about Against Me's journey as a band to try and not get caught up in life and give up on music; that no matter what, they'll do what they can to keep on playing, because that's what means the most to them. |

| Against Me! – Wagon Wheel (Old Crow Medicine Show cover) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Well, this is a cover of an unfinished Bob Dylan bootleg from OCMS, which was in turn, covered by Against Me! It's a wonderful cover, and the original is great. Leave it to Dylan to write something amazing. | |
| Dropkick Murphys – John Law Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Suburban Anarchists who've never broke the law Sing about police oppression, but they've never met John Law That pretty much sums up the whole song for me. This song is not only about the cops who are never heard about doing their duty, but about the people who slam them because of blind beliefs they have police. Too many people see them as extensions of a state they don't approve of, and not ordinary guys trying to keep their neighborhoods safe to live in. It's nice to see this kind of sentiment in music nowadays, especially from a punk band (a rarity indeed). |

| The Mighty Mighty Bosstones – Noise Brigade Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I think I agree with Louis, mainly because of what he said and the one line "The noise, well it's just love/That gets caught in my throat" | |
| The Mighty Mighty Bosstones – Never Had To Knock On Wood Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I think he was joking, calm down. | |
| The Mighty Mighty Bosstones – Bad In Plaid Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| No way, I freakin' love this song. They've written much worse songs than this ( i.e. "Issachar" ) | |
| The Mighty Mighty Bosstones – Someday I Suppose Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| A.) That's not true and B.) There are no trumpets on this song, or almost any Bosstones songs period. They only feature a trumpet player on a few songs. Other than that, this is probably the Bosstones best song, at least lyrically. | |
| Simple Plan – Surrender Lyrics | 19 years ago |
