Is it not posible to have more than one interpretation? You could take two very opposite meanings from thjis song and they'd both be right. A lot of people think that what the artist says about a song is the absolute and sole truth, but once you hear the song, it isn't sufjan's or whoever's song anymore; it's your song. It may not be your bag, but check out "Listen to the Music" by the Doobie Brothers. Music is a way to touch people's lives. It music can enhance your mood and get a message across at the same time. And just like dismissing songs that you don't care for, you can easily dismiss someone's interpretation if you don't like it. But it is truth to them. |
