I don't think its about rape. To me, its about a man with so much lust for a woman, hes taking advantage of her weak state (Your wounds are opening wide). I think shes broken up with someone she loved, and the 'wounds' are emotional. The guy in the song is taking this as his opportunity, thinking he can fill the emotional gap this guy left; "Your wounds are opening wide And they might be just my size." Makes sense, right? Hes also trying to persuade her that his intentions are the best for her, too. "There was always Warmth between us" Any opinions, i'd be glad to hear 'em. |
