| The Rolling Stones – Satisfaction Lyrics

at first i was under the impression that this song was just about how he cant get any sex because of the catchy chorus....but upon careful listening i found that the song itself is about the constant advertising industry america has formed. just read the verses about how the man comes on the radio, and the man is telling him on the tv how white his shirts can be etc. |

| Nonpoint – In the Air Tonight (Phil Collins cover) Lyrics

James W. is correct about this. The drowning story and the murder story, while entertaining, are both complete urban legends. Phil Collins said on many times that this song was about how much hurt he was going through during his split with his first wife. No idea on what she did but as you can tell by the lyrics it wasnt pleasant.
Cover isnt bad but i still like the original more since it sounds much more haunting than this one. An interesting fact is that this song's original version was used on the Miami Vice t.v. show while this cover is used on the movie's soundtrack. |

| Billy Joel – The Stranger Lyrics

I agree with Good Old MC and in addition I believe the song has something to do with the Albert Camus book, L'etranger (the stranger). Considering the main character "puts on a different face" and hides himself from the world etc. and in the process loses everything including the girl he knew he loved (but couldn't manage to admit it because he was "the stranger") and his life. |

| Avenged Sevenfold – Bat Country Lyrics

The song is definitely built around Hunter Thompson's quote in "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas", "I'll become a beast, it gets rid of the pain of being a man." The song's name comes from a scene in the movie/book where H. Thompson is so coked out of his mind that he thinks he sees bats flying over the car he's riding in and states, "We can't stay here! This is bat country!" Thus "Bat Country". Song is definitely about drug use no way to argue against that. Great song, though it doesn't do much justice to the movie/book. I do like the music video part where they recreated the scene in the movie with the bats but used M. Shadow in Depp's place. |

| Uncle Kracker – Follow Me Lyrics

1hottexan nailed this one on the head...Uncle Kracker said it was about heroin...and yet i still wonder why people question the meaning of this song :(. Either way Uncle Kracker did indeed say it was about heroin in rolling stone.
Some references include:
1) The ring you wear-the ring/mark/bruise from the injection site for heroin
2) Swim through your veins-if you cant figure this out you are hopeless
3) Won't give you money, I can't give you the sky-Heroin is not gonna give you anything back except addiction to it
4) You won't find anybody else like me-heroin has a "unique" high from what ive read and 1hottexan is correct in that sense that no other drug is "similar" to heroin in terms of what it does to you. |

Personally, I'd have to go with the interpretation of Franz making eye contact with the Serbian nationalist who assassinated him during his public drive. But, thats just my perception of the song. |

| Everlast – What It's Like Lyrics

One of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. Nearly brought tears to my eyes the first time i heard it. The song is essentially, as others have already stated, the golden rule in a more modern context. Treat others as you would like to be treated, and most importantly don't judge people until you know what it's like to be through their situation. |
