when it says "... and grant him one last choice: Drive until you lose the road, Or break with the ones you've followed." I really feel the drug thing there, or maybe anything else where the person is on the wrong path, and they can either continue on that path until they completely lose there way, or the have to stop and "break" with the ones they have followed. that is my favorite line. |

I first heard this song on the Marie Antoinette commercial and the song is honestly half of what makes me want to see the movie it sounds so good! I did not know it was by the strokes and when I looked it up i was excited to see that it was. it fits awesome on the commercial! my thoughts on the meaning: i can really see how the "media" theme fits on the oh dear is it.... part, but the first two verses are the ones that remind me all too well of a point in life, perhaps a breakup, that you just want to put behind you and not think about. |

| I bought this CD one day and listened to the whole thing straight through. My favorite song was how to save a life, but I didn't really listen to the lyrics. Later that day, I found out that one of my friends had died. "How to save a life" started playing on my computer and I listened to the words and I just started crying and sobbing. so the real song is about drug addiction but for me it will always be about the death of an amazing person. | |
