This song really is beautiful, unlike some other sociopolitical songs can be, just bitter and highlighting all our flaws, I just wanna' live =] Anthony was reading loads of books about dolphins at the time and found 'em fascinating. He's always had a sense of mother nature withn him anyways. |

Mosesandliverbeans is right, the inspiration of this song mainly comes from a t-shirt Flea bought for AK while in Amsterdam. I think the red star and black fist is some sort of Soviet symbol (Maybe) or just something that is symbolic of organisation, buckling down, living withn the rules - which was characteristics of the Soviet Union anyways. In Scar Tissue, AK says that when they got the record deal he just wanted to "buckle down" and get the record out, maybe that was inspiration too. |
