I agree. Even with Fiona Apple's version, it sounded like she gave the song no thought. Her voice is beautiful yes, but the song sounded nonchalant. Amy gave the song life, put emotion of what Sally was feeling in the movie. And I agree gave Tim Burton what the movie was missing, feeling and emotion. |

It doesn't matter what anyone says, we have our own opinions. If it wasn't for Amy and Evanescence, Seether wouldn't have been brought to fame when they did. It's a great song, she didn't use her usual metaphors to disguise what she was feeling. It's raw and honest. |

It's a great song. Very beautifully written. And I am a fan of both Seether and Evanescence. I wouldn't have been a Seether fan without "Broken". My opinion on this is it is about Amy, hence girl with dark long hair, and it is a response to CMWYS. Everyone had an idea that CMWYS was about Shawn, but it was made apparent when the single came out just as Shawn checked into rehab. There was no way to avoid it. Amy got out of a bad relationship, she didn't abandon him. Have you ever been in a relationship where drugs were more important to them then you are? It's hard and it hurts to know that you were never important enough to have the one you love clean up for you. While "Breakdown" is a just cause to fight back to CMWYS, we can't blame her for his bad decisions. |

According to Amy herself, quoted of the message board off Evclub, the lyric is "they're my own veins".
Beautiful song. There was so much controversy around a supposed "The Last Song I'm Wasting On You" before the album came out that she wrote it. There was never any song called that until all the rumors kept circling about it. From what I read she wrote it not as a joke, but to ease the rumors. The song isn't about Ben but about her abusive boyfriend from her past. |

This is my favorite movie ever. And for her to be singing Sally's Song is just awesome. She sings this song so beautifully. I am amazed with each new song that comes out. Her voice is breath taking and I'm glad they chose her. No one else could make this song sound as beautiful as she did. |

This song is absolutely beautiful. My favorite song off the album. The words are beautifully written. She proves that not only can she write songs about a drunk night out in Vegas, kissing a girl, and her weird relationship with an emo boy, but finally being able to put all that behind her and have a real relationship. Love it. She's lyrically gifted. |

I agree, the lyrics are pretty straight forward and obvuoisly are abour Ben. In fact, all the lyrics on this album are blunt and it's quite obvious who she is talking about in her songs. I love this what I call "New" Amy sound. Her and Terry make an excellent writing team. |

The beginning, "Sparkling grey, through my own veins" gives a good imagery that she's hurting her self because she is in a bad relationship. After being brought down over and over again, in the end she's stronger for the decision she's made. So now she's telling whoever that you can hate me now, because I overcame the abuse you put me through. It's a very good song. Sucks it didn't make the cut though. |
