jesus christ people this site is called SONG MEANINGS not OMG I HEARD THIS SONG IT GOT ME HOOKED IT DESCRIBES ME PERFECTLY. So quit! Some people don't want to read 6 pages of that garbage. Haligh=Holy Now that thats over with I think that the phone call at the beginning is . He askes is she cheating on me, and the guy on the phone goes, no its just some guy...but i think in his mind he's thinking well great she's cheating on me, so the "haligh haligh" can be like him saying holy shit in disbelief especially since he adored her from a far for a while and then they ended up together and finally at the end of the song he loses himself because he didn't know who he was without her but who knows its conor it could just be drunken rambling |

The title could be either making fun of schools whose students were only good at having school spirit or the "school" Kanye created for himself by dropping out. The placement between the two skits is crucial to understanding the song. And the lyrics aren't meant to be deep. This song is his victory lap on the album (excluding Last Call) and the time where he shows how he took the big leap that any musicians take when they're getting serious. |

| I know Jesse through a friend and I asked him about this song and he told me it was about how he liked this one girl and they were hanging out and stuff and it was goin really good but then it started to deteriorate. They would hang out at this lighthouse alot (thus all the marine references) and so one night when they were there, towards the end of any more-than-friends relationship they had, it was raining really hard, but the light from the lighthouse could still be seen, and so he kind of used it as a metaphor for hope. | |
