You, Me, and Everyone We Know – Do It Again (You're Not Making Me Want to Touch You) Lyrics 18 years ago
Amazing band and song.
Is it just me or does it seem like he is referencing alcoholism (I'm with my uncle and his mother and the rest of my family's history is with me shouting, "HAVE ANOTHER!")?

Houston Calls – Bob and Bonnie Lyrics 18 years ago
Love this song.
Jarrett said on My Name Is Mark that Tom wrote this about his parents. Adorable.

is it just me or does Alex (the lead singer) sound remarkably like Will Pugh from Cartel in this song?

Say Anything – A Walk Through Hell Lyrics 19 years ago
this is such a small detail, but I love how you can hear Max smile while he's singing. Especially when he says, "and I'd stand there like a soldier with my foot upon his chest"

it shows how much he cares/loves about the person he's singing about, that it brings a smile to his face.

Say Anything – Belt Lyrics 19 years ago
I like all of your interpretations and I agree with most of them

Maybe the belt not only represents his creativity/his music, but also his integrity. Maybe that's why it's a song of rebellion - he's not conforming for the music industry. I also was thinking about the function of a belt - it's used to hold up someone's pants - maybe his integrity/music/creativity has the function of supporting/keeping up not only his ideals and beliefs (about music) but also the ideals and beliefs of fans and other music lovers that don't want their bands to conform (his "friends" that will fight with him)

Punchline – Exactly Lyrics 19 years ago
I think he says:

Yeah, I was afraid - I was afraid I would become just like them.
That is{?} the fear of growing up and becoming that, it almost killed me.
Because I had some plans when I was a kid and I made some promises to myself. Promises I began to fear I'd learn{?} to live with as I grew older. But you know what? Looking back, I loved little (lonesome?){?} that kid enough to inform him{?} that nothing can take away that hope and nothing can take away his vision. Just because my world is dead, {??}
Just keep my eyes wide, walk outside, and {?? - it sounds like "play" but that doesn't make sense} myself inside.

Sorry I know I messed up a lot. Some of it is really hard to understand.

Cute Is What We Aim For – Risque Lyrics 19 years ago
Yeah it's "medically speaking"
Even though I kind of like "grammatically speaking" better
And shewantstorock is right - it's called "Crush"

Nightmare Of You – The Days Go By Oh So Slow Lyrics 19 years ago
I love this song - it's so catchy and laid back... their whole cd is great. I agree that the meaning is pretty straightforward. Is it just me or does the beginning remind you of The Cure songs?
