I'm still not certain what this means, but I suppose some songs are more about feeling than a clear-cut message. I'm sure the religious imagery is there for a reason, and I wonder if the 'all fires' line means that same that it does in "They Took A Vote and Said No". Of course, that song is about as easy to decipher as this one, but they do feel different to me. As for the first verse, I definitely still hear 'they' more than 'that you', because there's no clear 't' sound. However, I have the version that was released before the album, so perhaps it's different. |

| The clone part is probably a reference to "Science Genius Girl", which is about cloning Sean T. Drinkwater so that he could become 'The Other Sean T. Drinkwater' and be a member of Freezepop. :D I don't know if that necessarily makes the song about Sean, but otherwise, Freezepop songs are pretty straightforward. | |
| Islands – Swans (Life After Death) Lyrics | 20 years ago |

Well, there seem to be several Unicorns references in here.. I'm sure Islands are tired of hearing about the Unicorns, but regardless: The intro- the guitar here is in a Unicorns song, "Thunder and Lightning" "I woke up thirsty the day I died"- Similar to a line in "Ready to Die" "sun-smudged peach moon"- line from "Peach Moon" So, similar to what yanquiUXO said, WWCOHWWG had a lot of death themes, and Nick, as a Unicorn was supposed to die... but he didn't, and now he's moving on..? I guess someone who knows more about Islands and the Unicorns would be able to go further with this/prove me completely wrong. |
