Okay, after days of analyzing, I now know exactly what keke is saying.
Biko is his pet Pomeranian. Biko is about 10 years old and finishing out his golden years. Obviously Bloc Party has an intense touring schedule and accordingly Biko suffers. Keke is just sending this song out to tell Biko to tough it out, and resist using the bathroom indoors. The world isnt kind to little things like Biko. Who has never laid their head on their dogs as a pillow? Wake me when you come to bed clearly shows that Biko is an indoor dog. Biko was over 70 in dog years, so it's likely that Keke's love couldn't bring him back from the dead, even after eating his cancer. In closing, this little blueberry eating dog lived a good life and Keke needs to stop blaming himself for the death of a good friend. |

Just2get is right.. I just saw them in person and they told the story of this song. It is about sexuality and how gays have been osstracized so much via the media. Powerful song, if you think about it. |
