its about someone who is ashamed of themselves and pretends to be someone else, but it is wearing on him. And he feels bad because he had such a tight grip on his girlfirend that she dumped him. He seems very suicidal |

| Shinedown – 45 Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
And I'm staring down the barrel of a 45, Swimming through the ashes of another life [[saying that he tried to burn away all of the things he's done, but the ashes are still left]] No real reason to accept the way things have changed [[he doesnt like how everything has changed, but he doesn't really seem to feel like standing up and fixing it the way he wants]] Staring down the barrel of a 45 [[if he doesn't climb out of the hole hes dug himself into, he feels like he'll die]] Send a message to the unborn child [[his girlfriends' baby]] Keep your eyes open for a while [[telling the kid to take care of himself/herself]] In a box high up on the shelf, left for you, no one else [[not for anyone else to read, especcially not the baby's mom]] There's a piece of a puzzle known as life Wrapped in guilt, sealed up tight [[guilt- he feels guilty for getting the girl pregnant and leaving her and the baby, but feels as if theres no choice]] What ever happened to the young man's heart [[when did he lose his heart and decide it was ok to leave a pregnant girlfirend?]] Swallowed by pain, as he slowly fell apart [[however, he is flooded with pain from everything that happened, and he cant handle it. he believes it would be better for the girl and her baby without him, and for him he would rather be 'staring down the barrell of a .45']] [CHORUS] Everyone's pointing their fingers Always condemning me [[everyone blames him for everything... theyre saying its all his fault shes pregnant, like it had nothing to do with her too]] And nobody knows what I believe I believe [[nobody cares about what he thinks, and they certainly dont care about his problems]] |

Honestly this is a wierd song. I don't hate it but... i just dont really connect with the words and the beat/rhythm seems off to me. does anyone else c what i mean? One part I do like is: With just a little more poise than that ...remind you of another song of theirs? ("I'd chime in with a Havent you people ever heard of closing the goddamn door! No, its much better to face these kinds of things witha sense of poise and rationality") ...Love that song! |

A better kiss A hotter touch A better fuck Than any boy you'll ever meet Sweetie you had me Let's get those teen hearts beating Faster, faster So testosterone boys and harlequin girls Will you dance to this beat And hold a lover close? yay! very good song... ^(my favorite parts of the lyrics are typed above) thinking about it, that would really suck to realize that your ex was A better kiss A hotter touch A better fuck, then your current one or anyone else for that matter. wouldnt it though? |

It's these substandard motels On the corner of 4th and Freemont Street Appealing, only because they're just that unappealing Any practiced Catholic would cross themselves upon entering The rooms have a hint of asbestos And maybe just a dash of formaldehyde And the habit of decomposing right before your very eyes Along with the people inside What a wonderful caricature of intimacy Inside, what a wonderful caricature of intimacy i think this part of the song=best part! Its got great rhythm , and i love the words... mostly just the chorus part (wonderful caricature...intimacy) :) very nice. those of you that don't get it: this song IS definitley about a hooker.... thats something i thought was pretty obviosu but maybe i'm wrong... maybe you only get it if you listen close enough? anyway keep listen ing and mayb you'll get it. again: i love this song with a passion. wait.... this song? I love p!atd with a passion!!! aah |

| Panic! at the Disco – I Constantly Thank God For Esteban Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
This song is talking about how the fans take what they hear from the band home, and use it to make themselves seem better than others, and make others feel sorry for them (slitting wrists ref.) And yes, they are also singing about how it is partly the bands' fault too, because they "preach" and what they do preach isn't always done so with conviction. Basically theyre saying that everyone has their own little parts that they play, and its all for status. |

ooooooh, i LOVE this song! and i can definitley can tell how the singer sounds lilke FOB's Patrick Stump. when i first heard this song though, I didn't notice the references laced throughout the song from invisible monster, and i asked my friend whatt it was about- he told me it was all about bj s because of the 'give me envy, give me malice, give me attention,' and the 'give me a break!', and the 'shotgun wedding,' and it makes sense, but i def think what youre all saying is the actualy meaning of the song. |

there was a little desccrepency in the lyrics. Here is the actual version: Please leave all overcoats, canes, and top hats with the doorman From that moment, you'll be out of place and underdressed I'm wrecking this evening already, and, loving every minute of it Ruining this banquet for the mildly inspiring and Please leave all overcoats, canes, and top hats with the doorman From that moment, you'll be out of place and underdressed I'm wrecking this evening already, and, loving every minute of it Ruining this banquet for the mildly inspiring and When you're in black slacks with accentuating off-white pinstripes, whoa-oh Everything goes according to plan I'm the new cancer, never looked better And you can't stand it Because you say so under your breath You're reading lips, "When did he get all confident?" Haven't you heard that I'm the new cancer? Never looked better And you can't stand it Next is a trip to the, the ladies room in vain I bet you just can't keep up with, (Keep up!) with those fashionistas, and Tonight, tonight, you are, you are a whispering campaign I bet to them, your name is "Cheap", I bet to them you look like sh-- Talk to the mirror, oh, choke back tears And keep telling yourself that, "I'm a diva." Oh, and the smokes in that cigarette box, on the table They just so happen to be laced with nitroglycerin I'm the new cancer, never looked better And you can't stand it Because you say so under your breath You're reading lips, "When did he get all confident?" Haven't you heard that I'm the new cancer? Never looked better And you can't stand it Haven't you heard that I'm the new cancer? I've never looked better and you can't stand it Haven't you heard that I'm the new cancer? I've never looked better and you can't stand it And I know, and I know It just doesn't feel like a night out with no one sizing you up I've never been so surreptitious So of course you'll be distracted when I spike the punch And I know, and I know It just doesn't feel like a night out with no one sizing you up I've never been so surreptitious So of course you'll be distracted when I spike the punch And I know, I know It just doesn't feel like a night out with no one sizing you up I've never been so surreptitious So of course you'll be distracted when I spike the punch!!! |

| Panic! at the Disco – I Write Sins Not Tragedies Lyrics | 19 years ago |

This is an awesome song! I love it! Its talking about how the groom is pacing because hes nervous. He passes an open door and hears that his soon-to-be wife has been sleeping with other men. He would rather not hear it (hence the "havent you people ever heard of closing a goddamn door" phrase) and would still marry her anyway. He was angry at first but then decided to handle it with "poise and rationality." He doesn't want to lose their marriage, and is willing to put what he heard aside so that "technically our marriage is saved". All I can say is: very good song! love it! |
