I loveloveLOVE this song, especially the line "Its easy to be surprised with both your eyes sewn closed". I actually don't think its about plastic surgery at all. Thats too simple and one of things I love about Chris is that his songs are always open to various interpretations, universal in a way. I think the whole "scalpel, suture, made whole again" is a metaphor. |

I first heard this song through someone I know, and it hit me instantly as the perfect song for her last relationship. She was oh-so-in love with him and tried so hard to convince herself that it was the real thing and then when that fell apart, that she could leave unaffected like she used to. When they split she was shattered because she realised she was wrong and missed him...And neither could really make up their minds, if she wanted to go or stay, if he wanted her to go or stay...
Its such a great song. |

Come ON! People listen to Simple Plan to act rebellious, I listen to Cannibal Corpses simply because *gasp!* I LIKE them! This doesn't happen to mean I'm crazy/morbid/insertappropriatewordhere, it simply means that my tastes are somewhat different to the mainstream, something I am completely fine with. Why do you feel the need to write comments that are purely intended to insult bands/lyrics?! Isn't the whole point of this sit to comment on the bands you actually DO like? Please, GETALIFE! If you don't happen to like a particular band, fine, DON'T come looking for their lyrics. I hate to point this out to you, darling, but CC actually DO have TALENT. They're a multi-million dollar DEATH METAL band (need I say more?), they have a cult following and their lyrics DO actually have meaning behind them. While I'm on the topic of the lyrics, part of their appeal is the visual imagery I see when I listen to them. It's brilliant. Also, if you DO like bands like N'sync, out of interest, why were you on a Cannibal Corpse page in the first place? I myself happen to like artists like Alanis Morissette, Enigma, Jimi Hendrix, Bright Eyes, Okkervil River and The Killers to name a few but I can't seem to see the link between CC and N'sync...And, yes, I am aware that its slightly hypocritical... *

Come ON! God,why do you feel the need to write a post belittling someones musical tastes/image/lyrics? Isn't the whole point of this site to comment on the lyrics you LOVE?! please, if you don't like something, DON'T COMMENT! People such as myself find it extremely offensive when you say things like "this is the fucken suckiest band since n'sync." Honestly, get a life.
