| From my point of view, this song means that you have finally got what you were waiting for for so long, something you thought would make you happy at last. And it does, 'but just for tonight'. Then you realize that what you thought would be everything feels empty, like 'something is missing'. And now you want to be able to worry about your old worries, but without it all, you're 'choking on nothing', because it isn't there anymore. You wish you hadn't achieved what you thought would finally bring happiness, because now you have nothing to look forward to. Just how I interpret it. | |

I love this freaking song. One of my favourites. Here is what it means from my point of view, since my friend recently tried to commit suicide, and I can relate it. You’ve got so many problems No one else thinks you can solve them Where did the time go Everybody wants to know Life goes on day after day after day Too much work and no play -Everything is getting overwhelming. Life is routinary, boring, and difficult. When life seems like it can't get any harder When you feel like a martyr When you’ve lost all control That's when you’ve let the whole world know -The person feels like nobody cares anymore. She loses control, and attempts suicide ('When you've lost all control. That's when you've let the whole world know') You’re young and depressed With no future in this loneliness You’re young and depressed But you’re pretty well dressed Yeah you’re pretty well dressed -She doesn't feel like there is a future, but she covers it up well and seems like she has a good life. I know that you’ve been hurting So much has led up to this Your eyes are burning Hard times make your heart resist That's all that you want is to follow your dreams They all fall apart at the seams -She wants to make something of herself, but she lost hope. Hard times make her think of things another way. Discontentment turns to anger turning sour every lonely hour Yeah depression Failed relations turn over a new leaf will it be a four leaf clover? Yeah obsession yeah depression yeah -After attempting suicide, people that she didn't get along with turn to her. Instead of being unhappy, she is angry at everything. |
