| I thought of Jaws as well. Fear Before has been known to write songs based loosely off movies. | |

theangryemu Witch trials in the 1800's? It was the 1690's tool. I think in addition with the story of Cassandra, it's about man ignoring the dangers of what they're doing. People die from smoking...but mankind still smokes. America learned about the dangers of building an entire state below sea-level, a hurricane came and demolished it, and they want to rebuild it. The body count of anything is proof that something is wrong and needs to be fixed but "no one listens to the..." |

"Not too sure about the last word in the first chorus. Nick using the same word twice is something I'm sure that's never happened." What about Valiant? |

| Massive Attack – Angel Lyrics | 19 years ago |

It was in snatch definitely, but I dont think it was during a fight scene, it was during the burning of Brad Pitt's mother. Was there a fight scene during that sequence? I just remember it being played when Mickey's mum dies. It was also in the '05 version of Flight of the Phoenix when Alex dies. No idea why it was played...destructive lust wasn't a scene about death, but I guess the somber instrumentals give it that slow motion effect during something so pivotal and painstakingly alerting. |

Moms and Dads break up their games. And take away their rollerskates. An' give them algebra and trig... Raisins, steaks, or figs, but take away gingerbreak and cake. Every husband, every wife, every cop, every teacher, everybody -- do the takin' away, AND DO THE TAKING AWAY! |

| The Spill Canvas – Valiant Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
1. "Valiant" (I think the title comes from the chorus. As in if the girl married him today, if she devoted herself to someone so unworthy and filled with problems [a sinking ship lowering into the bay]. it would be a "Valiant" and noble decision.) 2. I also think that the lyrics are wrong, I know in the liner notes of the CD Nick writes, "When the sun goes down and the shadows grow just trust in us and forever know" I think after he says "know" and starts going "oooooooooo" I really think that 'ooooooo' is "I will." So it's like, "When the sun goes down, and the shadows grow, just trust in and us, and forever know I will." Meaning, if you trust in us, then dont ever doubt that I will stop trusting in us. 3. This is pretty much my favorite song by TSC, besides "Still Walking After You" and if any of you reading this play guitar, I have the chords for the acoustic intro to the guitar. If you IM me, I'll send them to you and see if you can figure out the hammer-ons and pull-offs between the strumming and chords I came up with. My AIM is "SUNSETSon24th" and my e-mail is jj@defiancedesigns.com. And yes, The word "SUNSETS" on my screename came from Sunsets and Car Crashes. I also have a Valiant screename. :P. |

| Erik Peterson – Olde Tyme Mem'ry Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I'm pretty sure Erik says... "Why preserve a dying craft? END it's misery. we sigh and SEE another modern man, one of property not land, so I hold out this battered hand, will ya listen? "Come sit down we're lamenting about yesterday's sad ending..." So the story goes... Erik is in a bar telling the barman his troubles and concerns the majority of America can't handle the rustic life, and the barman gets a little cynical and says, "who cares? No one does this job anymore, just end it." and Erik is a little depressed when a rich tycoon guy walks in and Erik invites him up to his chair then serenades him with his fathers story. |

| I agree with Design's theory, except I plugged in some headphones and jacked up the volume, the intro and the outro sound like raindrops. Which makes sense with the hurricane references. | |
