umm SOADmad, i definitelly find myself in your story, Fade to Black, as well as The Unforgiven 1 and 2, almost stoped my fuckin heart, in case of Fade to Black its when Jamzye says 'gettin lost within MYSELF', just the way that he says this word 'myself' sends shivers down my spine. its great how such a band can go from making headbangers for most hardcore metalheads to ballads that can melt down anyone's heart, and anybody who says metallica sucks can go to fuckin hell, cuz metallica is one of those bands that will forever remain in my heart and soul. James and Kirk are Gods.

I have two oppinions on this. I might be an anti-war song, but i'd say that its about the Soviet-Afgani war rather than the US war in Vietnam. Also, more likelly, this song is about his daughter getting shot by a lunatic on the street. That can be confirmed if the album art of Gillan's latter band is taken into consideration.
