Julliard14 hads the right of it in my opinion. It's a song of many meanings but "Round and round we go Who would've know it would end so well? We fall on and we fall off Existential carousel" is quite blatantly a metaphor for life. |

This song was dedicated to me by one of my best friends shortly after I got to know him. Having gone though secondary school without really having any friends I was socially reserved. So to me this song will always mean what he meant it to say and that is - "Just watch me and the rest of our friends, this is how we are and it doesn't need an explaination. We accept you for who you are so just follow and everything will be alright." It probably doesn't do what Brandon was trying to say any justice, but Incubus are the modern poets and as with any poetry its about what it means to you personally. |

This song is about procrastination. The green part is referencing a green light like the ones on traffic lights. "What are you waiting for, a certain shade of green?" Brandons saying since when did we need permisson to go and do things? stop sitting on your ass and thinking about all the things you want to do and just do them (within reason of course). Now then onto the whole drugs thing... every song, thats right EVERY SONG on S.C.I.E.N.C.E has a refference or double meaning relating to drugs. Now I don't know about you guys but after a few spliffs its a fucking effort to lean forward for the lighter. So that would certainly tie in with the theme of the song. |

You're right bzlunt, Incubus are a band the get real fucking high. But that isn't what this song is about and as Incubus are my favourite band in the whole world I feel compelled to tell you just how full of shit you are. You don't need to justify your habit, least of all by relating it to a band, I know I don't. As for the song I'm really feeing it at the moment because I do feel like I'm gonna burst in the very near future and I take solace in the fact that a song is telling me to face my problems and then rise above it. |
