i was thinking that this song could somehow be an internal conflict within a person. it's like a person is having a sudden epiphany in which he realizes he is not "who he used to be" and therefore because of what this person has gone through for the past year is tiring of himself. he's probably in the awkward stage of maturing and being more practical than a boy who believes and has hope that things will get better. therefore these two "brothers", practicality and hope, must choose their own path within the person. maybe i'm just thinking too much, but i'm pretty sure if you look through a different corner of the lyrics, it can work out; opinions? |

okay so it`s 2006. coldplay came out with another album which is great by the way. i was going over this album and i remembered my favorite song on it and yeah it was the scientist. it reminds me of, a guy who broke up with a girl for a reason that can`t be explained so he realized he made a mistake and he regretted it so he just wants to start all over again and put the break up behind themselves. i couldn`t relate to this song 4 years ago, but i can now. maybe because i can relate to the person it`s being sung to. it hurts. it`s a wonderful song. |
