| Did you get those from the lyric booklet or is that just what you hear? | |
| Kevin Devine – Another Bag of Bones Lyrics | 15 years ago |

So...I feel like there are two ways to look at this. Either every one of those examples is just a big-picture look at messed-up stuff in the world, or they're all pointing to global warming. I know it sounds kinda hokey. But hear me out. First, we have the obvious ones, like a glacier disappearing and a heat wave in January. Then, we get into the less obvious ones, like a farmer boy sprinting over desert dirt, kids with submachines, facts worth facing faced way too late and the mission of modernity. It could all be talking about the unseen effects of global warming, like how the Darfur genocide has been linked with droughts and stuff. |

| Foxy Shazam! – It's Hair Smelled Like Bonfire Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
It's just "Red heads with curly hair" in the beginning (minus the "we're the"). It says above the song in the booklet, "Foxy Shazam in collaboration with the League of Women's Society, bring you "It's Hair Smelled Like Bonfire". So, I don't know. Just a great song with weird lyrics. Stream of consciousness, maybe? |

| Foxy Shazam! – The Red Cape Diver Lyrics | 17 years ago |

No, I'm looking at the lyric booklet right now. It says "fires torpedoes" at the end, not "fired". And it is "I don't want my mom to die". As to the meaning, the matador thing makes sense, but how do torpedoes fit into that (but on the other hand, wtf's a boo boo?). I almost thought it sounded like a video game character. I can just see the gamer sitting in his chair, going, "What the hell, it fires torpedoes!" |

| Thrice – Of Dust And Nations Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I guess nobody else has noticed this. Vheissu is an 11-track cd. ODAN is number 9, making it track 9/11. The very first line says "The towers that shoulder your pride." As well as being anti-materialistic, this song also has something to do with 9/11 I think. The first stanza almost seems to be speaking to the terrorists themselves. The towers shoulder their pride because they've destroyed them. Even so, their message will be forgotten eventually, as will they. The rest of tyhe song appears to be a message to civilization as a whole, using 9/11 as an example of harmful clinging. | |
| Rx Bandits – Pal-Treaux Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This song kind of strikes me as having a sort of 'be cool' message. As in, don't be mean to people just because of stupid little things. Respect people for who they are. Be nice. For instance: It's okay, you're obviously in a hurry. Take my cab, I'll wait for the next one. I see you're point, I guess our time here is done. Instead of fighting the sun, the moon recognizes it's time is done, so bows out. | |

Hidden message? How do you get to this? |

| Coheed and Cambria – Apollo I: The Writing Writer Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Is anybody getting the feeling that Apollo, Newo's dog, is the Writing Writer? It kind of makes sense, what with all the songs based off the Writer in this album, and how Apollo is included in the title of the album and two songs. It could be an alternate world, where the Writer is Apollo in one world and is the Writer in the other. Hey, when you think about a bicycle named 'Ten Speed' talking to somebody it really doesn't sound so far-fetched. |

| System of a Down – Lonely Day Lyrics | 20 years ago |

wow...seems to be quite a bit of controversy surrounding this song. considering that this song was written lock, stock, and barrel by daron, i'd say this song doesn't have much to do with war (daron is the much less politically-driven of the two SOAD song writers, serj and daron.) What I'm guessing is that he tried to keep the song's meaning vague on purpose. That way, the listener can relate to the song in whatever way he feels like. Chances are, there is a specific meaning of this song for daron, but the song tells nothing of it...it could possibly be about a death or just one of his worst days. |

| Coheed and Cambria – The Willing Well I: Fuel for the Feeding End Lyrics | 20 years ago |

i guess it would make more sense as 'this' instead of 'east', so it would be: 'faith...this i gave that hour', or 'i gave my faith that hour' |

| Coheed and Cambria – Ten Speed (Of God's Blood and Burial) Lyrics | 20 years ago |

the talking part, i believe, says: "But are you going to kill her off?" "Are you insane? I love her character, she stays." "Yeah, well the only thing love's done is put you in this position; I say kill her off!" "Yeah, but you say a lot of things... and how does that work? You're a bicycle" |

the talking part, if you listen carefully, says something along the lines of: There is no room for mistakes, my children. for as I have been told....today is the day I die. I'm sorry I never played the part as your father, as I should have, and from the looks on your faces...it seems that's all you've ever asked of me it is time for you to go into these worlds alone... with all of my love. I love you. I love you all so very much. |

according to lyricsondemand.com, the spanish is: fe este dia que hora which, loosely according to the nearest spanish-english translator i could find, means: faith (east, this) i gave that hour |
