regarding "Bob": this has bothered me for a while. my first inclination was that he's referring to Notorious (they were friends, and the way Jay sings "I got dreams..." at the beginning of the final verse is similar to the biggie song 'dreams'. but in "my first song", during the shoutout as the song runs down, he says biggie smalls rest in peace, AND bob allah rest in peace. and, um, biggie's name isn't bob. it's a great song, particularly that last verse, which leads into "allure" so well. if anybody has any insight into who bob is, or any other thoughts, please share! |
