"I would love this song so much better if there wasnt all that noise in the beginning/end" Conor says he actually puts "noise" in some songs to try to filter some fairweather fans from listening to his music. That's why they are usually at the beginning of his CDs. Also, I read all the comments expecting at least one person to bash this song, seeing that most people that hate Bright Eyes point to this song and calling it "the most pretentious song ever." |

I always though it was "Try to name one thing you like You used to have such a longer list THAT you never had to look for it." Not "Try to name one thing you like You used to have such a longer list And light, you never had to look for it" I could be wrong though. |

I know this board hasn't really been active lately, but I am going to post this anyway. I really love how in the two verses he switches The Smiths and Morrissey with Brand New and me, because, as I think everyone on this board knows, Jesse is a huge Morrissey fan and emulates his style in his songs, especially the new ones. So, I think by switching the lines he was comparing his band to The Smiths and himself to Morrissey. |

| Elliott Smith – Everything Reminds Me of Her Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| The determining factor that made everyone think that this song was about heroin was the line "And I got to hear the same sermon all the time now from you people." That line makes people think he is getting lecture by everyone about his addiction, but from my own experiences with girls I have noticed if I show my emotions and I seem sad all the time my friends get aggrivated and they say that I should just forget about her and that she isn't worth it. So, when I heard those lines I interpreted them as his friends saying that she isn't worth and he should forget about her and he is saying he can't because everything reminds me of her. | |
