| Jerryk: Isn't that - at least to a certain degree - the beauty of music, that it can mean different things to different people? In my humble opinion a song can't be over-analyzed. But with that being said; there's a difference in how people understand the words and what Brandon meant when he wrote it. In any case, I think the first-mentioned is the most interesting. | |

As I am norwegian, there will be several words and expressions that will just pass me by and makes interpretation a bit harder for me. :) Anyho ... I thought that maybe Anna Molly (the anomaly) is a ideal girl, which everyone else is being compared to. He has a picture of this girl in the back of his eyes - which represents "a fire in the attic" and "a proof of the prize" - while he watches the ships pass; hoping to find his Anna Molly. Well, it makes sense with some of the lines and then not with som of the others. It's a thought, none the less :) |

Maybe it's a matter of perception, but I see paying homage to Primus and/or Mr. Bungle. These are a huge inspiration to Incubus, aren't they? As far as the alleged stab at The Roots go: Sorry dude, but I don't buy it.. :) |
