| Lupe Fiasco – Superstar Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| The way he sings the third verse is amazing. I never knew anything about Lupe Fiasco until I heard this recently. Most excellent. | |
| The Police – Spirits In The Material World Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| The lyrics are trivial. What makes this song is every aspect of it's beat, particularly the bass riff. It's truly amazing. | |
| David Banner – Play Lyrics | 19 years ago |

This is, by textbook definitions, one of the worst songs ever made. It's so trashy, corny, and overly ridiculous explicit ... and just horny. Yet, every three months or so I have to listen to it. |

| Queen – Killer Queen Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I'm pretty sure this song is about a very high class woman, not necessarily a hooker, prostitute etc but one that is probably single and gets around. Obviously a very seductive type - guys should know the type - you know, the chick you see every so often, just look at her and go WOW! Hence all the explosive, energetic words :) Instead of a hooker I would say she's probably more like a conceited pimpette. Well, she's "extraordinarily nice!" ... conceited isn't the right word, how about posh? The first part is the tricky part of the song. I understand a few of the references, but I'm getting that the jist is just details that support the notion that this woman is on top. She's just the chick that everyone digs :) |

It's ironic that this is a song with music about enjoying the silence. Basically DM is dictating to us to enjoy the silence. Strange :) It's really a great song, very sweet and meaningful. Of course it means that silence is very important in some sort of connection between two. Recall the famous scene in Pulp Fiction where Uma Thurman notes how silence is important as it is a deviation from the monotone bullshit we yak about. And I'm almost positive she said "bullshit" and "yak" verbatim. |

Here's a link to the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ey9ie1L4Z1g That's crazy stuff :) Amadeus was such a badass :) I honestly think that's his point. Also, it's funny that Tech N9ne, a rapper, remixed this wonderful beat into his song "I'm A Playa" :D |

| Falco – Rock Me Amadeus Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
English "version" i found on some site: He was the first punk ever to set foot on this earth. He was a genius from the day of his birth. He could play the piano like a ring and a bell And ev'rybody screamed: Come on, rock me Amadeus. He was a superstar, he was dynamite and whatever he did (it) Seemed to be alright. And he drank (and) he cursed and he fooled around But when the women would shout: Rock me Amadeus, Amadeus, Amadeus, Amadeus, Amadeus, Amadeus, Amadeus, Oh oh oh Amadeus. With a bottle of wine in one hand and a woman in the other 'Cause he was a ladies man He never stopped to worry what the next day would bring Because the girls would sing: Rock me Amadeus, etc... His mind was on rock and roll and having fun Because he lived so fast he had to die so young. But he made his mark in history. Still ev'rybody says: Rock me Amadeus |

| Thomas Dolby – She Blinded Me With Science Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
CuteSparnkina, it would appear that way. The first 12 times you listen to it, that's just what it says. I am being completely serious - I have come to realize this song is about infatuation, uncontrollable desire and rape. 'science' is a parallel to 'pepper spray' and 'technology' is a parallel to a "baseball bat" or something to that effect. I think these lyrics have several mistakes in them, but regardless, "smelling" of chemicals is an obvious reference. So yes, while he has an absurd infatuation with his "lab assistant" or whatever you'd like to call her, the song takes it a step further by subtly implying that his actions towards her were met with ferocity and he is dillusional. |

| Journey – Don't Stop Believin' Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
The best part of this song is the piano in the intro. As soon as you hear that, you just want to start crying because you're so happy. It's quite a unique song in terms of structure. As someone else said, it just increases and increases. It doesn't have the same repetitive style that most other music has. The song is really all about one of humankind's social peculiarities - being shy and social at the same time. People crave social interaction, but just look at people on a busy street downtown on a friday night - see how many people there are passing by others without saying or doing anything. Yet, it's that deep desire to socialize that keeps us moving. Don't stop believin', streetlight people! |

| Visage – Fade To Grey Lyrics | 20 years ago |

An amazing song, but the lyrics here are way off. These are compliments of 80's Music Lyrics: Devenions gris One man on a lonely platform One case sitting by his side Two eyes staring cold and silent Show fear as he turns to hide We fade to grey (fade to grey) We fade to grey (fade to grey) Un homme dans une gare isolée Une valise à ses côtés Deux yeux fixes et froids Montrent de la peur lorsqu'il se tourne pour se cacher Sens la pluie comme un été anglais Entends les notes d'une chanson lointaine Sortant de derrière un poster Espérant que la vie ne fût si longue Feel the rain like an English summer Hear the notes from a distant song Stepping out from a back drop poster Wishing life wouldn't be so long We fade to grey (fade to grey) We fade to grey (fade to grey) The French sections make a lot more sense with these lyrics. |
