Grateful Dead – Greatest Story Ever Told Lyrics 18 years ago
I love the story behind this song... if you have a chance to listen to the Grateful Dead Radio hour, episode #500, Bobby and Mickey tell the story of how this song originated from a water pump that Mickey had in his house... they would listen to the rhythm that it made and formed a guitar lick to the rhythm. It's a very interesting clip... here is the link:

Alejandro Escovedo – Arizona Lyrics 18 years ago
I saw Alejandro Escovedo perform this song at the Newport Folk Festival over this past summer... he did an entire acoustic set and this song was BY FAR the best song of the set.

Dr. Dre – Fuck wit Dre Day (And Everybody's Celebratin') Lyrics 18 years ago
the interesting this is how CPTlife's profile email is sk8er2b66@comcast.net... not a very "thug life" email address, is it? Sounds like a fake skater kid wanting to sound hard... he's probably a 13 y.o. white boy who JUST heard this song and wanted to look up the lyrics so he could sing along and make it look like he's known the song for years...

Richard Thompson – 1952 Vincent Black Lightning Lyrics 18 years ago
I am so surprised nobody has commented on this song... Richard Thompson has such an amazing ability to tell sad but beautiful stories through his music... this song is a perfect example of his ability. Artists do not write lyrics like these anymore.

Grateful Dead – Stella Blue Lyrics 18 years ago
I think this song may be related to a Wallace Stevens poem entitled, "The Man With the Blue Guitar"... a lot of the lyrics can be connected to this song. The poem, supposedly, was inspired by the famous painting "Old Man With A Guitar" by Pablo Picasso.

Also, the Stella guitar is a certain type used by many blues guitarists back in the early years.

Grateful Dead – Row Jimmy Lyrics 18 years ago
classic Robert Hunter//Jerry Garcia collaboration. The flow of the lyrics always reminded me of "Box of Rain" for some reason, which is also another classic Hunter song...

Jim Reeves – Blizzard Lyrics 19 years ago
this is such a sad song... I remember listening to this song when I was a kid, and just imagining myself in this situation. The words are so visual, you can realy picture the scene with great detail. I just heard this song recently, and I still find it very sad and beautiful.
