Laura Stevenson – Landslide Song/The Dig Lyrics 11 years ago
This wild song is about a landslide that breached a wall inside a coal mine and flooded the shafts, carrying everyone and everything out in a torrent of freezing water.

The song's story is simple--it starts with the collapse, then it brings everything back to the beginning when the men were standing with their shovels, before the catastrophe befell them.

Really, what's awesome about this song is how wild the band plays it, like a deluge of horns and drums, much like the landslide that engulfs the miners. Plus, it sounds an awful lot like a loud Netural Milk Hotel song, and that's always a good thing.

You Say Party! We Say Die! – Monster Lyrics 17 years ago
The lyrics are incorrect from the unintelligible line ("-------") on.

The ------ line is actually "The hair grew in thick"
What follows is this:

The hair grew in thick,
Your talons reached in,
The venom fought hard,
To poison our hearts,
Delusions of dying made sense in your head,
But you're better than that, you're better than that

Moros Eros – Satan Has a Heart of Gold Lyrics 18 years ago
I like this song a lot for its ambiguity. The song is about some dude who is torn between whether he is an inherently good or bad person. At first I thought it was more clear cut, because I thought the ending of the song said "I know the truth and I believe him." I thought that meant the narrator agreed with Satan that he had avarice in his heart. That coupled with the ending lines about Satan seemed to imply that. But now that I hear it more and read these lyrics, "I believe 'em" can mean either Satan who believes he is evil or "Everyone" who thinks he is a good person. It sounds like "'em" or "him," really. And so only the narrator knows the truth, and I like the song because of that mystery.

Bomb the Music Industry! – Pike St - Park Slope Lyrics 18 years ago
This song is my favorite Bomb the Music Industry song. I don't know what it is about it, but the song is very poignant. I make sure to sing the second refrain of "Brooklyn!" in full gusto, too, every time. The song is just awesome.

It "in a dark well," and it does make sense. The children lost their kite because it fell in a well.

I wish there was a way to tell what the unintelligable part of the song says. It seems like he's telling a story of some sort.
