The beauty of music is that it's completely abstract. That is to say that we can all interpret it and hear it in any way we choose. Although I think it's pretty clear that this song is about a breakup from a strained relationship caused by drug addiction. The mother's message is a true message, from what I've read, and is really the mother worried about his drug addiction and depression (I'm assuming due to his breakup as well.) I can't see it being entirely about his mother for one simple reason: "...make a porno feel like home" No one in his right mind has pornographic movies playing in his head about his mother. This song is fairly clear to me, but as I said, it's abstract - so if it moves you, keep moving right along with it. |

The good: it's one of IME's most accessible songs. The bad: It's still virtually intelligible. |

| Cauterize – Porcelain Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| This song is gorgeous. Like most Cauterize songs, it's not the most difficult feat to figure out what he's trying to say. The speaker fucked up a relationship and still thinks back to it (even with a new girl). He pleads for another chance (and I'm assuming to himself) to no avail. Great song. | |
