I believe this song is about a girlfriend he had, with a strong catholic background who feel pregnant to him and then got an abortion, which explains why 'ya ma disowned you' because abortions are against the catholic churche's beliefs. 'Don't you love the life you killed' could refer to either her own, before everyone turned on her, or the baby's life, which she terminated. He's saying that he loves her, and he'll stay with her no matter what she chooses to do. He'll 'Let it slide' meaning forget about the abortion and stay with her, and get married to please her family or run away and please her. I also heard in a radio interview that John's sister came home from catholic high school pregnant... |

I think it's about a person who has become sick of the place they are at, and they just want to escape and be free. He wants to take someone special with him and run forever, never boig tired down, just being free together. She's all that he wants. The Goo Goo Dolls rock my world and their new cd kicks ass. Let Love In... |

Okay I don't really know what this song is about yet and I'm going to sound like a crazed maniac but so far I decided that... This song could possibly be about the state of the world and the war etcetera. For example: 'The ones who fight and die are the truth inside the lie' meaning the soldiers have good intentions and are fighting for something they belive in, which is just a big lie from the Government. Maybe the voice no one could hear were the protestors and those who voted against the Government who couldn't be heard because they were elceted and doing whatever they desired and everyone was just standing by...but not for long. I did read that John was a big news buff and Robby's blogs are very polotical, anyway insult me all you want... |

This song means whatever it means to you... But for the record, I think it is about John Rzeznik's past. He was orphaned at 16 and I read it was a song he wrote for his sisters 'And now we're grown up orphans that never knew their names'. It is not pop by the way, but if that's the greatest insult people can use on it I guess that's pretty great. |

I believe the line is 'Not everybody wants to know your name' instead of 'Now everybody...' proving that no matter how much you think you're going to make it you wont nessasarily. It's about people moving out thinking life is going to be exciting 'Saccharine, caffine, nicotine gum all tastes sweet but it's not for long' meaning at first it's fun but then it wares off and you are alone trying to fit in and be something you aren't based on the media's opinions. 'Take iteasy till you make it alone' refers to obviously being careful until you are okay living alone...you think it's going to be a great adventure but it's not and it's hard at first. The media influence is defininately to be addressed too and I agree with all that has been said about it. I love this song especially the introduction with the percussion instruments and insane guitar chords. |

| This song is so perfect. You can relate it to your life no matter what's going on and feel it. So honest and true - made me learn the mandolin. Thank-you John Rzeznik for the gift of music. | |
