hmm, i like your interpretation pods. I didn't pick that up, but I agree with your assessment, it seems to match a lot. The 'one crowded hour' chorus is just awesome, as I can just imagine her being his friend, (knowing her well since they were 16) and him always wanting her, then for just that one moment he got her, and he was soo happy, then, because of the pregnancy, it all just crashed around him! From now on, when I hear this song, that is the interpretation i'm taking! thanks! |

umm... I thought (and thought it was obvious, so maybe i've missed something) but someone he's loved (wife i assume) (and 'he' is not necessarily refering to Dave himself)has died. "You said always and forever, now I believe you" If she'd left him, it's not like he'd be believing her. "some angel is stuck inside of me, but I cannot set you free" same with the 'some devil is stuck inside of me' line this is saying that she is still in his head permanently, and he doesn't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing, but either way, there is nothing he can do about it, she is there forever and now he dreads spending the rest of his life without the one he loves. |
