I really really think this song is about Dallas's conflict with the previous members in Underoath. Don't know if anyone else will read this but yeah : Your wrongs will not go away. Hard times are coming. You wanna feel this. Come a little closer it's time you see these scars. A true friend takes without giving. Criticizing his former "friends"? Maybe? Was it worth the while burning us up. When the OATH that bound us was more than words. Heretics claiming the Savior as their own. Not-so-subtle reference? He could be talking about the band members basically kicking him out and claiming the Savior as their own... Maybe? And finally this: And you think hurting me really helped. Believe me it's coming around. I heard on an interview with uhm.. The drummer of Underoath[the only original member left omgz @_@] said the band had to leave Dallas behind so that he could sort some things out in his life. Something along the lines of "We had to hurt him to help him" or something. Also, Underoath has the song "reinventing your exit", a song the drummer said was about the whole Dallas ordeal. So yeah, a stab back perhaps? |

I really think it's about someone who's soulmate is physically dead and gone from the world. Hence the name 'Sleeping With Ghosts' " The sea's evaporated Though it comes as no surprise These clouds we're seeing Their explosions in the sky It seems it's written But we can't read between the line" Like saying 'As far as I can see, it's the end of the world' With the "One World Vision" stanza being the living soulmate looking at the world now in a pessimistic tone, and he thinks he so sick of all the division that's taking place between every person. The chorus is, I think, his soulmate's spirit, prescense, whatever you want to call it, trying to comfort and remind him that soulmates never die to each other. As I read Molko said somewhere.. "Sleeping with ghosts, making love to a memory..." |
