| My Bloody Valentine – Only Shallow Lyrics | 15 years ago |
That's my number one pet peeve. Like, in the entire world. And I have quite a few pet peeves. This one time I was in a music store and somehow I got into a conversation about MBV with one of the employees (who, I feel it is necessary to add, didn't look like the type of person who would listen to them), and he said something like, "Oh, I have one of their hoodies. Yeah, great band." I did a mental facepalm. Anyway. Let me edit what I posted above. Actually, let me post the entirety of what I think the lyrics say. "Sleep, like a pillow, no one there. Where she won't care, anywhere. Soft as a feather, touch her there. Where she won't dare, somewhere. Sweet, like a mallow, softer, fair. Feel like you could swallow her. Speak your trouble, she's not scared. Soft like there's silk everywhere. Sleep, as a pillow crowns her hair. Where she won't dare, anywhere. Look in the mirror, she's not there. Where she won't care, somewhere." |

So I was watching the "Only Shallow" video and I paid attention to Bilinda's mouth during the second verse, and this is what it looks like she's saying: "Sweet like a 'mallow, softer (then?), think that you could swallow her." Just a thought. Because I'm pretty sure the lyrics above aren't entirely correct. |

I have long dark hair and big brown eyes. He's totally singing this song about me. Just kidding. It is one of my favorite MBV songs, though. And MBV is my favorite band ever. So it's basically one of my favorite songs ever. |

| Sebadoh – It's So Hard To Fall In Love Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This song is fuggin' adorable. | |
| No Age – Everybody's Down Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This song. Is. Soooooo good. |
| Jawbreaker – Oyster Lyrics | 17 years ago |
"I haven't got a nice thing to say about anyone except the one who caught me staring so I just walked away." Blake's a genius. |
| My Bloody Valentine – Feed Me with Your Kiss Lyrics | 17 years ago |
The chorus is the best part. "So feed... me... with... your... kiiiiiiss." |
| Death Cab for Cutie – This Charming Man (The Smiths cover) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| He didn't know the words, so what? It's still a really catchy cover. | |
| Idlewild – When I Argue I See Shapes Lyrics | 18 years ago |
"I laugh at your conversational skills... or lack of." One of my favorite lines from a song, ever. |
| The Blow – Hey Boy Lyrics | 18 years ago |
How is it that, no matter what song it is, Khaela Maricich always seems to sing about my life? It's weird. |
| The Blow – Hock It Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Khaela Maricich has this remarkable knack of singing about my life. It's uncanny how much I can relate to her songs. |
| Rainer Maria – Always More Often Lyrics | 18 years ago |
The best part of the entire song, to me, is when Caithlin and Kyle sing the "for all you... who've ever hurt me." The energy and emotion they have there is absolutely amazing. I like to just listen to that part over and over, rewinding it and having that surge of energy again and again. |
| Malajube – La Monogamie Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Ahh. Thank you much. | |
| The Velvet Underground – Heroin Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This song is just... gah, it's amazing. The melody is simple - it's basically the same two chords over and over, with variations and feedback here and there. But the way it starts out so slow and mellow, and by the end it's going all chaotic and crazy... it's just brilliant. It corresponds perfectly with the lyrics, what he's saying about the drug, what it does to him. It's like he knows it's going to get the best of him one of these days, but its effects are enjoyable for him and he's sucked so far into its grasp that he's just like, "Hey. Whatever." Now, I do in nowise condone the use of the drug. But this song is absolutely phenomenal. |

| Rainer Maria – Tinfoil Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| From the very first second of this song, it's like there's this rush of energy that starts swimming through you. It's amazing. | |
| Malajube – La Monogamie Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| What is the segment they sing at the beginning with the acoustic guitar? I don't think it's in the liner notes. | |
| Fields – Schoolbooks Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This song is so frickin' ethereal. I love it. Not only are the lyrics beautiful, but the melody is enthralling. I love the way it builds up, stops, and picks up again near the end. Come to think of it, the entire album is a puree of goodness. |
| My Bloody Valentine – Lose My Breath Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This song is absolutely phenomenal. Seriously. |
| PlayRadioPlay! – Jello Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I love the way he writes his stuff. There's no sexual innuendos, no dirty stuff... it's just cute, fun, catchy electro-pop. Not to mention, Dan is rather dashing. |
| Yo La Tengo – Deeper Into Movies Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I absolutely adore this song. It is no doubt the best I've ever heard from them. The way all the music and vocals blend together into one vast dreamy soundscape reminds me a lot of My Bloody Valentine. |

| The Shins – Sea Legs Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Wonderful song. Catchy, danceable, and a slight stray from the classic Shins sound. But I have a question. Why are there asterisks in the liner notes? I was trying to listen for the word they were "bleeping" out, since the Shins usually don't curse in their songs, and when it got to it, it didn't sound like a bad word. Granted, I have no clue what he says, but it didn't sound like anything worth bleeping. Anyone know? |

| Snow Patrol – Chased By...I Don't Know What Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I've always wondered that, Greenmuffins. It sounds like he's saying "Please purr, feline," or something. I have no idea. Does anyone else have any thoughts about this? |
| Rainer Maria – Southpaw Lyrics | 19 years ago |
This song is really sad. To me, it sounds like someone who is being physically abused. But, like most all other songs, you can interpret it any way you want. Maybe it's about a crappy relationship. Orrrrr maybe it's actually about boxing. Your pick. But it's a really good song. |
| Small Sins – stay Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Holy CRAP, I love this song. It's so uber-catchy, it's impossible not to like it. It's the kind of song that makes me get up and bust dance moves everywhere. When I hear this song, my whole day seems brighter. "Yeah you can stay if you waaaant to, but you can't sleep in my bed..." Do-do-do-de-do-de-do-do. |
| Rogue Wave – Endless Shovel Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Yeah, the lyrics are sort of spacey, but I like them. The melody kicks butt, too. Brilliant song. |
