I agree with dougy, but I also think part of it is an inverse of that too, as in the fans in the band's heart: "Do you miss where you were? They shall seal your shout." -As in, Billy missed being in his band, and the cheers and love from his fans "sealed his shout" to get the band back together. "Guilty of this silent march, There's triumph through love So they’ll shout, And all this will go on." -The silent march could refer to his solo album, and the triumph through love could mean the triumphant return to rock as the Smashing Pumpkins. "So they'll shout/And all this will go on" once again refers to the cheers from the fans, and the Pumpkins will once again go on. "We’ll have some trust, We’ll have some youth." -The trust is from their diehard fans who have been waiting for the reunited band to be back. The youth -- perhaps Ginger and Jeff, the new, young members of the band? That's what I think of it so far. |

It's a great reprise of a great song. I love that it opens with the lines "And the embers never fade in my city by the lake The place where i was born" Makes me think a lot about home (Chicago of course), while I'm out-of-state away at college. |
