I love this song. The first time I heard it I cried... I'm going to venture that this song is about losing someone. And feeling completely hopeless without them. And the wound represents their lasting impression... his reminder of whoever's left. As if that's all he has left of that person... and he's holding on to it by making it "feel new". I'm confused about the lines dealing with "everyone" and how they "cheered".
The whispery voice he uses while singing this song makes it even more tragic... |

I love this song because it gets across the silly, fun, crazy moments of a relationship. "they say love is hell, but i've only been laughin' ever since i fell" not everything has to be so depressing or cliche in love! "i'll teach you how to shake" it's just a fun song... it makes me wanna dance around and definitely picks me up if I've had a bad day... |

This song is simply beautiful. It's one of the only songs that actually makes me cry when I hear it... his voice is so haunting... and the simplicity in the music just calms me down. I love the line... "and I'll let your smile just off and carry me..." AH. I just love this song. Ryan Adams is great! |

I didn't like Avril upon hearing "Complicated" but after I checked out her cd and saw the edge she put out on pop, I decided she is cool in my book. I really relate to this song because I grew up moving around all the time because my dad's military. And that line -- "This sucks, gotta pack up and leave again/Say goodbye to all my friends/Can't say when I'll be there again" is what goes through my mind every time I move. And I like the fact that her lyrics are simplistic... sometimes it's better.
All I know is that I respect anyone willing to put themselves out there by doing what they want to do--even if they have people who diss them... |

I love this song so much! I'm in a long distance relationship for the summer, and since I'm a big cheeseball, I made an envelope printed with the lyrics of this song on it... It seriously epitomizes everything I feel when I think about my relationship at the moment. Along with Dashboard's song "Shirts & Gloves".
