i agree that this is what the song is actually about, but don't you think it could equally be used, not as a breaking up song but kind of from the perspecitve of a soldier who's died and is saying goodbye before he leaves kind of the world, if that makes sense? |

i absolutely love Fall out boy and this song but there is one bit that both me and my friend argue over- what does the line "i'm 2 quarters and a heart down" mean, i understand the heart bit but not the 2 quarters maybe it's because im british. But we thought it might be refering to condoms after a one night stand with someone he loves? |

this is such an awesome song ive liked it for a while now and it reminds me of exactly how i felt when i was going through a really rough time in my ife and felt so rejected. It should make me feel depressed every time i hear it but conor oberst beautiful lyrics and the upbeat tempo make me smile every time as it reminds me of the clarity it brought me just hearing the starkness of the lyrics. And i was also left with the consolation that someone as gorgeous as conor oberst could also feel so rejected so there's hope for the rest of us too! |
