I think everyone here has nailed the meaning of this song. It is definitely one of my favorite Shins songs... so beautiful and sad. The kite references... they make me think of leaving for college, and having to leave behind my boyfriend who I loved. Even though we had to "fly apart" and it was sad, I always tried to keep our memories fond ones. Why do you think the song is called, "Pink Bullets"? |

This song is addictive! I've been listening to it in loop since I first downloaded it! It seems like he's basically saying he is in love with this girl, but either doesn't want to trivialize it by defining it simply as "love" or he's just scared to, even though he wants to "be her everything". "She's been feeling pretty bad about life, look into her eyes and let her know why, you wanna be her everything" I love those lyrics! I guess it makes me think of when you see a person you care about who is so sad or depressed and you just want to be able to tell them you love them and fix their life (whether you're truly in love with them or not), but its never just that simple. However you take this song, its simple lyrics and unique music style is just great! |
