Urb4n has a point. Why the fuck should any of you have a place or any right to go off on a tagent and claim Metallica is the best Metal band out there? If you believe so, then YOU go somewhere alse and babble all you want about such a great band. Anyway, this song is one of the best and there's no doubt about it. The meaning of the song to me is that the dominant religious beliefs have gone too far for this person to handle and the lyrics expresses his point of view of how people commit heinous and deadly acts just to get away with it which in turn they plead for no sins to religion as a way to save them. So the man, Alexi Laiho, is trying to be upfront and real with everyone. He just really doesn't or could even give a fuck if you hate him. :) |

Oh man... right out of a movie! This band is surely full of greatness... you people just don't even know what you're missing out on, for shame, shame. Now on the other side of things, this song is simply about someone who makes the final decision to put a hit on a convicted felon who has escaped past judgement days numerous times and continues to pursue his daily deadly tasks. Clearly expressed throughout the song, there are two sides talking here: the individual who is a bounty hunter who vows to take out someone by the means of revenge while the other side who is a cruel and unsatisfied person who is blind to see the fact that he's now being tracked down and even warned for the things that he had done and will soon dearly pay for it. To sum it all up, this song to me is about severing ties with regretful filth that still lives on. It is surely a song of severe angst from horrid past occurences. True example to fit the standards of EW's progression. |

I agree. If people post lyrics, please at least TRY to make them correct. I believe this song is about a person whom has promised many things to people in his past life and always lied about it by taking hellish means. As soon as the person realizes, he/she tries everything to cover up the mistakes that he/she made but soon enough gets denied by the people around him/her. But it can be interpreted in so many accurate ways... The other way to see this song is that this one person has always tried his/her best to make things happen correctly in life but not realizing that he/she is actually just digging the whole deeper without any resolvement so the person acts on their angst that he/she felt throughout his/her life and takes everything by selfish means to escape all past problems in order to start a new life yet, alas, surely realizes that he/she will be still haunted or followed even if you try to outrun your memories. |
