If you listen closely to the last 30 seconds of the song, there is something being said in the background. Quite possibly the most downcast song ever written. One interpretation is to say that a relationship scarred this person for the rest of his life. However, I believe in the other interpretation. To me, I think it is about how we try to live a life dedicated to God, but we keep falling away. Eventually, this leads some people who have a relationship with Christ to walk away from God, but they are haunted by fact that his mark is still in thier hearts. The "mantle" and "photograph" represent the faith in Jesus Christ that can be walked away from, but never forgotten. In other words, this song portrays faith turning into disease |

thbkk, It may seem hard to believe but God does cry and he did die. Even back when the world was first created God's heart was "filled with pain" (Genesis 6:6) when mankind was sinning so greatly against him. Also, Jesus cried in the Garden of Gethsemane before he was crucified so therefore he died as well. However, he rose from the dead, proving he is God, and promises to return to us. That is why Dead Poetic wrote this song, they just want to go home to Heaven and be with God because they are tired of waiting on this earth. |

I think that Stratovarius had some really good metal songs with good messages. This song however, False Messiah, blatently lashes out at Jesus Christ. The sarcasism in this song is ironic because it's the truth in real life: Jesus died for our sins and if we accept His sacrifice, we will recieve eternal life. If you read this today and you don't know if you are going to Heaven when you die, say this prayer and sincerely mean it in your heart: "Dear Jesus, Thank you for dying on the cross for me Forgive me of my sins Cleanse me in your blood Give me new life in You Write my name in the Book of Life I Give my life to You Amen" |
