What a brilliant brilliant song!!! i love it! and i saw them live at leeds 'slam dunk' festival on saturday, they were amazing, the crowd loved them... but they didn't play this song! :( I think you have got the meaning more or less spot on, or what i thought anyway. But it's nice that everyone interprets it slightly differently dont you think? makes it individual in some way.
I can't understand why is says:
"I don't ever want to see you again
I don't ever want to see you again my friend" and so on. is it what the girl says? but friend?
Also, a bit strange, it says :"never down and out" but the song suggests that she has got away from it. But perhaps never over it emotionally?
And i agree with many of you; the line: "speak now or forever hold your peace, in pieces" is good!

This is a nice little song, it was released in november last year but didn't get into the top 40!???
I think it's about a guy who dosnt know how much a girl likes him and is perhaps a bit insecure. |

I've only just heard this song, even though its a few years old now. It made me listen, and think about what it was saying. Good son, but i agree, doesnt sound like it's completely finished. |

Yeah, i agree! makes you listen. It is particuarlly good at getting people's attension because the things that it suggests are wrong, are what lots of people believe. The line "If you think that punk rock doesn't mix with politics, you're wrong" makes them appreciate the song even if it's not their type of thing.It's different to other stuff by NOFX which i think is interesting, because it's good to have a bit of variety. |

I like this song. I think even though ' just wanna bring you down so badly' implies he doesn't like her, from the rest of the song, it appears he does like her, perhaps to the point that he is over protective of her. He might even be jealous. ' I trip over everything you say' could mean that he doesn't understand her. But then he says that she is all he ever wants. Overall, he could just be confused and doesn't seem to know how much he can get away with :' How close is close enough?' |
