| Cake – Opera Singer Lyrics

It's definitely one of their more "popish" songs. I think this has to do a lot with how an opera singer can compare with a "perfect" life. The tape, all the cues, they tell you what to do, and when to do it. Don't we all wish things were that simple? |

I like hearing people curse in songs, sometimes it makes 10 times better. "Shut the fuck up, learn to buck up" said repeatedly is great. |

This song's just fun to me. It's rap-rock...so what, it makes me laugh...
He is handling the money, he is serving the food, he knows about your party, he is calling you DUDE!
and also the part...
You can dress up like a sultan in your onion-head hat!
=P
I love Cake. |

Cake doesn't seem to be so popular with my friends, so I burned my best friend a CD and had Comanche on there and she is in love. |

Let's just say, Hushabye Mountain means the world to me. My mom used to sing that to me and my other siblings when we were little. It was our lullaby. =) |

You're actually wrong...that would mean that you love him, only he loves someone else. He can't see that you love him, and that she doesn't. |

| Keith Urban – Tonight I Wanna Cry Lyrics

"I've never been the kind to ever let my feelings show. And I thought that being strong meant never losing your self-control, but I'm just drunk enough to let go of my pain. To hell with my pride, let it fall like rain from my eyes. Tonight I wanna cry."
People see me as this emotionally solid girl. I don't cry, ever. After hearing this song, I thought, "to hell with my pride, let it fall like rain." A good cry never hurts really. |

| The Goo Goo Dolls – Iris Lyrics

Well, "Iris" was originally written for the film, "City of Angels" which is amazing. I recommend it. The song sums up the movie incredibly, especially with the first line of, "And I'd give up forever to touch you..." Nicholas Cage ((Seth)) is an angel and Meg Ryan ((Maggie)) is a woman on earth. He falls in love with her and gives up an eternity in Heaven to be with her.
I remember reading somewhere that John had a hard time titling songs, and one day while looking in the obituaries, he spotted the name "Iris" and thought it was really pretty, but that could be false.
Another guess of mine is that the iris is part of the eye...the colored part, in fact. The movie has a lot to do with seeing someone, really seeing them for who they are, and it just makes you cry, it's gorgeous, like the iris part of our eyes. Eyes are enchanting...like this song. |

Beautiful...simply beautiful.
The lyrics and the musicality just fit.
There's a cello, and it just makes it sound so powerful. |

It's a fun song...totally. My dog's name is Cheri, and I love my dog. When I play the song, she hears her name, gets up on her hind legs, gives me her front paws, and we dance. =P |

I really believe this song is one of those where we can all understand what the words are supposed to mean, but we all have different experiences that make us relate to it. Really, the Intensive Care Unit does reak of piss and 409. There are vending machines, old magazines, a television on, but nobody is watching because everyone is waiting nervously to hear what's to become of their loved one. They make the setting so visual. I can see myself in a waiting room at the hospital. We're taught to expect the worse, but to hope for the best. And then he has us think...that love is watching someone die, you know, being there. So, who loves you? Who's going to be there to watch you die? It really is amazing. |
