| Johnny Cash – Hurt (Nine Inch Nails cover) Lyrics

this is one of the few songs i can't stand hearing when i feel only slightly depressed because they are so sad. i really love this song, but johnny cash puts so much grief in it that listening to it really hurts. on the other hand, he was able to sing in a way that made everybody cheer and want to dance. johnny cash was just a great musician. |

i don't think that "talk to me / kiss me now that i'm older" means that someone used to be underaged before. i think it simply means that there's s couple taht knows each other for some time but they boy always acted in a boyiish and stupid way. now he is a few years older, became mature and realises that he wants that girl so bad (and also wants to have sex with her) |

| Millencolin – Afghan Lyrics

i really love millencolin, but they should seriously don't write political songs. in general, most musicians and actors who try to be political end up being dumb and populistic (i said most, not all). and it's the same with millencolin.
i think it's really funny that so many people say "i like the band xxx because they bash bush/are saying that war sucks/are opposed to capitalism and globalisation/help africa by playing on live8." that's so stupid.
i'm from germany and i was totally in favor of the afghanistan war. |

| Die Ärzte – Kopfüber in die Hölle Lyrics
| 20 years ago

i think you are wrong. i think that song is about the youths who took part in the 68-movement and the whole protests in the 60s and 70s in germany. like all those people who were protesting against the government, against all those old nazis who still had major influence, against the prude german society, against sexual discrimnation, against the vietnam war and the us, against the persian shah.......... it's about all those people who were occupying houses and so on. they all had big illusions, many of them were stupid, but they also managed to change a lot. but now al lot of those people stopped having illusions and act as if they had never participated in this movement. "Heute stehst du bei Hertie an der Kasse:
Da ist keine Sehnsucht mehr in deinem Blick."
it's the best ärzte song ever. |

| Die Ärzte – Ich Bin Ein Punk Lyrics

i also think that this song is totally ironic. i don't like "5,6,7,8 bullenstaat" but i think that many songs on this record are meant ironic. farin or bela also said one time in a interview that, when die ärzte were founded, they were pissed by all those punk bands that only wrote stupid songs against the police, the government and the whole society. so they wanted to do something different. |

| Franz Ferdinand – Auf Achse Lyrics

The german words "auf achse" are not connected with jesus or cruxificaion in any way. "auf achse" is a figure of speach and means something like "en-route". the verb is "to be on the move". i don't even know if the english translations are correct, but being auf achse means either to be on one's way to go somewhere or to be very busy because you have to do something. excuse my bad english. |
