The line that connects conspiracy to this particular event is "What made them fall", in reference to the towers. Also when he says "You can't erase YOUR TIES all you lines all your ties with the 'enemy'." they are referring to Goerge Bush and the CIA's connection to terrorists and how they helped them become killing machines during the cold war to fight communists. and how they either turned on the USA or they are helping them to start a war, and war always brings in great profits for any country. |

Since the band has confirmed that this album is a story and this third of that story is told by Kezia (the condemmed woman) we know that is fact. the interpretation part is what she is thinking before she is executed.
I think this is her last morning. she is walking the "green mile" to the prison backyard (makeshift valley of death from earlier in the album) where she is going to be shot by a 5 guard firing squad containing one guard whos story is told during the middle third of the album.
she is thinking that the death will be fast (bullets dont take their time, they crash through)
she is also wearing prison shoes because in prison they take all your belongings away (that was kinda obvious). she makes a comparison of her shoes to the gunmans lost future, he is thinking of quitting and not executing her, and the priests false religion.
the last line is her final words, she will never regret her choices and is now ready for her punishment. the bells that play at the end symbolize her imminant death. |

Since the band has confirmed that this album is a story and this third of that story is told by the prsion priest we know that is fact. the interpretation part is what the priest is thinking just before Kezia (the condemmed woman) is executed.
He is thinking about the execution to come, the place where she will die (the backyard which is the their makeshift valley of death) and he is thinking about the night before, he watched her eat her final meal and he watched her crying. Then he is thinking that whatever she did (its never explicitly explained) may be decriminalized in the future (im thinking she did something like protest against a dictator, which could be where the band name comes from). if that is decriminalized in the future then her execution would have been for nothing. if she could be watching from heaven she'd be seriously pissed to have her life cut short for no reason.
also the bite my neck and peel away aging skin is either a reference to the guilt the priest is feeling or a new feeling of love for Kezia
but thats just my interpretation |
