This is my last semester in University so I can really feel this song through all my bones! For me this song is about leaving all behind and fight for the aim of graduating. However, it is sad that in this process whereby you are becoming better a great deal of friends feel jelaous about your success and you have to leave them behind. It is also sad the fact, that you spend a lot of time in library alone reading books, trying to design something to change the world for good (by the means of your thesis) and there is nobody around you. The girls are interested in assholes and there is nothing you can do to change that fact. I have seen that usually the most beautiful girls are involved with jerks as a boyfriends. For me this is a kind of sad and happy song at the same time. It means the end of a deep sentimental relation. The things didn´t work how the lovers expected. Anyway, for me this song is about leaving a place you think it would be more than you had expected your whole life (another country). You left the place full of regrets and bitterness because you tried to do the right thing all along; you tried to have the time of your life; you tried to have friends but you were a completely failure. God didn´t show in your way. You tried, but you lost. And now everything is so cloudy. Your last days are coming before you return to your country. You start to remember the times you tried to be friendly, nice and polite with the people around you and how the people from that country were telling you ¨you are wrong¨ , ¨you are an idiot¨ ¨you don´t have to say thank you so much to the people¨ ¨you are doing everything wrong¨ (Just like the monkeys did in the fall out boy´s video). I am nowadays an exchange student and sincerely I can relate perfectly this song. It´s about giving your best at everything you do , but you can not win! You go to the bars in the town and the people don´t want to talk to you (and the girls neither... even though he told you that these girls were easy );you go to the parties and try to get any chick but they are not interested in you (Some nights come up empty handed); you invite a girl to take a coffee or going to the movie theater and she says to you ¨no, I am sorry, I have to see my grandmother, grandfather or some other god damn bastard¨. You try to be polite, cool and most of all you try to be yourself but...the girls don´t like your attitude. "Good try We don't like it" "Good try We won't take that shit." The first time I heard this song I almost started to scream. It seems that some days nobody believe in you and your dreams. You try to share who you are and what you got with the people but they do not care.They just want to live their ¨magic¨ world full of sex, booze,drugs and pleasure. For that reason you start to fight alone for your own goals.Even tough you would wish to have true friends and a nice girl to enjoy your life...there are times where there is nobody real around you and you need to find your own way out (for example if you are writing a master thesis or if you are in a foreign country trying to improve your skills in another language and even though you try to make friends nobody really cares about your friendship). Fuck! Autopilot Off is astonishing. A summer ago I was very depressed and hopeless. Then I met a girl. She was lovely and voluptuous but there was a problem: she was married and her husband was a fuckin bully! Yesterday I was in Jail because my neighbour asked me for the phone number of the person who is renting the apartment cause his key was inside of his apartament. I openened the door, it was 2 am and answer back I didnt have the damn number. Suddenly, a friend of my neighbour hit me in the face at the time he was saying ¨don´t ever talk like that to my friend¨. I catched my breath and then I started to fight him back...I told him ¨you fight like a faggot¨ and he got more angry. Then the police came and catched us and put us in jail for disturbance in the streets. When I was in jail I remembered this song and I started to sing it loud inside of my head cuz each part of it I felt identify with. I worked all night the last night. I was all alone. I missed home. I was watching the time flies by felling with doubts about my integrity (I was surrounded by junkies in jail) I was sleeping like a dog. The mexican legal system sucks...the world was coming down on my head! And I was wondering all the time ¨when it all end?¨ I was four hours for defending myself and I got fined.
