If anyone has trouble sleeping at 4 in the morning, you can see Roger Daltry, adamant deliverer of the line "I hope I die before I get old," on an infomercial talking about the good ol' days when The Yardbirds would rack in the doe and trying to sucker you into buying the same shit that every radio station everywhere spews 24/7 for free. But I digress, 70's rock had it's day, but if you're still trying to keep your badass image while you live in a fucking castle in Sweden, you might want to reconsider playing in a pseudo-punk band. I like the Who, and I think that some 70's rock is still relevant today (The Clash remain one of my favorite bands, and Washington Bullets are still fuckin' flying), but I think that settling down and selling out is inevitable after 400 years of spewing some quality shit. ...Either that or you collapse under your own fame, take shitloads of heroin and morphine and shoot yourself under the chin with a sawed off shotgun. |
