| Enter Shikari – Kickin' Back On The Surface Of Your Cheek Lyrics | 15 years ago |

This is about germs, guys. It's quite obvious really. ;) Read the PROPER lyrics as if they're from the perspective of a bunch of germs, now you understand Kickin' Back On The Surface Of Your Cheek. This isn't too 'out there', considering Take To The Skies is about an alien invasion. |

That's how I felt, actually. I realised that there's NOTHING on the official ES forums about this, so I just assumed I'd got into this a bit too much =/ Good to see I'm not the only one, though =p |

People are still idiotic enough to use limewire? Jesus.. Get a brain. Use Bittorrent. (or at least buy the fucking album, they're self-signed and it costs £7 for a 17-track album. They get every penny, too.) |

Eyevan - can you link me to like some forums you go to to talk about this stuff? I worked out most of the album concept by myself (and it turns out I wasn't the only one! =D) so I'd love to have someone to talk about it with, lol. I so cannot wait for the new album, so I can waste more of my life trying to work it out xD |

| Enter Shikari – We Can Breathe In Space, They Just Don't Want Us To Escape Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I like eyevan.vega's approach on it. Although this won't be on the new album, it could fit into their alien-storyline. Earth has been occupied since the end of Take To The Skies, and humans are now slaves or something? Who knows. Can't wait for the single release of this, and the new album (which is miles away =() |

| Enter Shikari – We Can Breathe In Space, They Just Don't Want Us To Escape (New Version) Lyrics | 17 years ago |

I still can't tell what this song is going on about, really. But I have a few corrections for you. At the end "Lets move the ....." should be "Lets prove the stars wrong" (I think). Also, when their guitarist sings 'He doesn't score', it sounds more like 'spoil', to me. And, I think instead of 'Drawn on the surface', it's just 'And on the surface of the globe..' Let's hope the single has the lyrics in the sleeve o.O As for meanings.. Well.. I dunno. Could it be about an alien species looking at our species, and at how 'premature' we are? It seems to be about how we're going to destroy ourselves or something, but that we might be able to overcome it? I dunno.. Seems like a lot is going on in this song. When I first listened to it, I didn't like it. I much preferred the older version (I liked the 'Drop it buster' and "We're.. Not... Alone" parts xD) but this quickly grew on me. Pre-ordered the single already. |

| Enter Shikari – Mothership Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
The song starts out 'Go Tell All Your Friends That This Is The End' and is either from the PoV of the aliens or from the PoV of the main character OF THIS SONG. The main character of this song is someone who was abducted from the same aliens who are invading again (think Independence Day) and he was cast off as insane. But now the aliens have invaded, reclaiming the Earth, and he's telling other humans that "We're screwed," pretty much =P "What Are The Clouds Running From?" I think the Mothership is entering Earth, and this causes some environmental differences. The sky clears and everything. Hence "Something is wrong. Spit it out." The chorus is sung from the PoV of the abducted person. Quite self-explanatory. "THere's something in the air... Tonight I'm wide awake'' etc. I think this could also be from the PoV of the abducted person. I think he's laying in bed remembering his experience with the aliens when he was abducted before, about his feelings when he was in the Mothership - and now he's feeling the same feelings again, as if the Mothership has returned - which it has!! "I Am Sane. I Am Sane." He is defending his sanity. After he was abducted, people branded him insane - but now the aliens are here. "My Soul Felt So Safe Up There, No Self-Centred Natives Destroying Our Earth" I think the main character is finding himself with the aliens. Seeing things from their PoV. So he sees himself on their side now, because he felt 'normal' when he was with them. Basically, this guy gets abducted. He tells people about it but is branded insane - this all happened before this album began. Now, the album has begun and the aliens are back again and are invading the Earth and Humanity. The guy finally realises he felt safer with the aliens than with the humans, so he sees himself as one of them. He knows he wasn't insane, but he felt saner than ever when he was in the mothership. I love concept albums... =) |

Aahhhhhh awesome song... I think, following the storyline of the Album, this is about Humans destroying our planet. What with pollution and emissions and shit... I think it could be from the PoV of Mother Nature. Humans are on this planet and we're using up all the resources given to us. I think the 'I'm sure your jaw will sorely be missed' is from Mother Nature itself. I mean, she could devolve Humans so that we have no jaws. I think that's what is meant with 'I'll bite your fucking fingers off' as well.. We use our hands to take, so its only right for them to be removed via evolution. This could also be from the Aliens (taking the storyline of the album into it).. I mean there are hints that the alien invaders are the original 'keepers' of the planet.. That's why they're invading again - to take it back. |

I completely agree with D4N7E. I love the storyline of this album, with the aliens and science-fiction references. =) I think the result of nuclear weapons (Humans last resort for everything) didn't work. During the Closing of the album, "And Still We Will Be Here, Standing Like Statues" is repeatedly shouted. This quote is coming from the aliens, I believe, because during Enter Shikari (when the invasion begins) this is screamed also. I think Rou is trying to say 'Plan B' doesn't work. This also sets us up for the next album, too... I wonder if the storyline will be continued? I mean, the Earth must be in pretty bad shape now, right? =/ |

| Enter Shikari – Today Won't Go Down In History Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Going by the storyline of the album, the 'King' is leading an army to the aliens/Gods/whatever but he knows they won't win the battle. He finds relief in the rain, because the rain can be used as an excuse as to why they lost. I love this song, and I think the Interlude after it represents the army travelling towards the aliens (because when the aliens first arrive they are shouting 'And Still We Will Be Here, Standing Like Statues' (in the second track, Enter Shikari)) and then we have Return To Energiser during the battle (and the army shouting 'return to energiser' 'that's not what you want' etc etc) Man I ramble. |

I got sort of a different take to the song.. I just saw it for what it is... This person is in a relationship which could be sort of one-sided. He's giving all the love but not getting it back (or something like that), so he decides enough is enough and that its time to leave. I don't think that's the point of the song, though. In the chorus, he wonders who will look after her once he's gone. This suggests he still loves her, but needs to leave her anyway. So he might be feeling guilty for leaving, but knows he must. Basically, he's left someone he loves and is questioning who will look after them while he isn't there. I love how the song starts in Autumn and ends in Winter... And I love how he compares Autumn (which is when everything pretty much wither and dies) to his love for her. And I agree with sevenrowsback. This album took a few listens to actually sink in with it's brilliance. =) |

| The Academy Is... – Chop Chop Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Yeah.. Everyone's pretty much got it, then.. I guess 'Chop Chop' is him saying that to himself. As 'chop chop' means 'hurry up' (or at least it does where I'm from o,O) so it's kind of like him telling himself to hurry up and end the relationship before he gets hurt again. |

| The Academy Is... – Unexpected Places Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I love how the first song is called Same Blood... and the first half of the album talks about how everybody is the same, makes the same mistakes in life and everything. Then we get towards the end of the album and it's like Will finally starts to believe we are all different etc. "I see changes in the most unexpected places." ^^ He never expected to see change and stuff, because he believed we were 'all the same'. Great song. Great album =) |

Talkin' about how most bands are all depressing and stuff.. with depressing lyrics.. and they somehow seem to make money by it.. Whereas this band do things differently.. This song rocks :D As does the whole album! |

| Billy Talent – Fallen Leaves Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
mindless is pretty much right!! If you go to their site, it says it's about a friend's drug addiction.. I dunno.. If the verses seem to be in the eyes of the addict, then the chorus is either a friend oorr the addict, but at alater time when he's learned his lesson, and is telling other people... --Wallnutteh |

| AFI – The Killing Lights Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Wah? It cut off my post!? Meh.. Yeah 'But shes not regretful' that she got plastic surgery done.. And the chorus.. "Put on your face and let's pretend" Couldn't that be about the mask surgeons wear? I dunno.. It's a great song.. --Wallnutteh |

I got Plastic Surgery from this.. "What a shame such a sad disgrace, such a pretty face, but she's not regretful." |

| Pezz – M&M Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Yeah I reckon it's them taking the mick of Goths or Emos or whatever... It's pretty funny :D Erm.. Btw, the lyrics.. -something- is not something, lol.. I think he says Qu'est-ce c'est.. Which means What Is It, I think... It's French, btw.. Meh, who knows.. ..But the song pretty much is about Goths and Emos.. :p --Wallnutteh |

| Billy Talent – When I Was A Little Girl Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Gah why isn't there a Pezz section?! This is Pezz not Billy Talent... Billy Talent used to be called Pezz when they were in their teens, but changed their name 'cause they were ognna get sued 'cause someone else had the name Pezz.. This is on the Watoosh! album by Pezz, which was re-released by Billy Talent, 'cause it's a damned good album... Can't you tell his voice is a lil bit different than on the Billy Talent album? --Wallnutteh |
|
| Billy Talent – Reflective Jumpkick Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
This is either a new song from Billy Talent, which I doubt.. Or it's an unreleased Pezz song which somehow made it to one dude who posted the lyrics up as Billy Talent.. Also, When I Was A Little Girl is from Watoosh!, which is Pezz's first and only EP.. I think they may have redone it, though.. But I don't think this is a BT song.. and Billy Talent is much better a name than Pezz.. Dunno why but I know Billy Talent as Billy Talent and not Pezz.. ..and back then (when they were like 13/14/15) known as Pezz they kinda sucked.. Now they rule though.. --Wallnutteh |

Anyone know what 'Giant rubber hose' is a reference to? This song is actually damned great, I loved it.. I can relate to it so much.. Meh... Their newest album is pretty great :p Songs like Boy and The World On A String are their worst ones on the album, I think, though.. :p Good show OLP.. |
|
| Easyworld – 2nd Amendment Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I'm not sure what this song means.. For some reason 'I Get My Killing In The Free World, Aint It Fun' links me back to emoabz's ideas.. People going on about Free Worlds and crap, but the singer here is saying sarcastically about how people kill people and won't go dwon for Murder in the Free World... Hmm.. I have no idea.. :p --Wallnutteh |
|
| Easyworld – Drive Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
..No way.. No comments for this song!? Geez.. I love this song!! Easyworld aren't really my favourite band, but this song rules!! I think it's about past stuff.. As in he's looking back or visiting places he went to when he was younger.. And he kind of misses it.. I dunno.. It's pretty obvious if you listen to the lyrics a couple of times.. :p --Wallnutteh |
