Additionally, I always thought there was an Andy Worhol connection. Warhol actually did have St. Vitas Dance as a child, and it had lingering effects. And the lines about accessories, flash lights, triggered dancing, kind of remind me of Warhol's mass produced art. But maybe I'm reaching on this one. |

"That's my star," I say. "And I'm your cowboy." It's amazing that Shudder to Think can use this line and it actually sounds lovingly haunting rather than cheesy. I think many of thier songs have dream imagery, but this one more obviously than most. I mean, it is called "About these Dreams". But the disjointedness, the light-ness is truly dreamlike. Lovely. |

This song is beautiful. Just reading the lyrics, you don't get a sense their expressivness. The singer using strange, almost broken phrasing, and switching from a normal voice to fallsetto to convey feeling. What a fantastic band... |

I also think "The girl from Shine" is a reference to the first album. Specifically, to Chloe from the song "Chloe Dancer". I might be wrong, but I'm fairly sure that "the girl from Shine" is Chloe. |

| I remember reading in some review or other that this song was "vaugley disturbing". I don't see anything vauge about it, it is disturbing. But really, one my fav X songs. Agree with the above about being anti-rape, and the drug connection. | |
