This song is amazing. In my opinion, it's mainly about anti-war and anti-draft, obviously. "not 'til half our names are etched out in the wall, and the other half ruined from the things we saw" I think Jesse's leaning towards 'Posttraumatic Stress Disorder' when he says "and the other half..." I have it and that's just what I thought of when I heard that line. |

it's just a past love. someone used to love him more than life but as time changes, so do people. simple as that. but hey, let's not try to get the demos before brand new puts it out themself. if they want you to have it, youll have it. the only reason i have them is because i work at a record label. i heard most of these songs wouldnt even be on the new cd, but that might just be a rumor. |

okay. first of all, the father is not dead. when he says "dead man" this means that his father is pretty much dead to the world. because he is a junkie. "as the track marks inched their way up your arm" meaning heroin needles and whatnot. "dead man, is it being high that makes you alive" herion obviously, makes you only feel alive when youre on it. i dont think that theyre talking about god being their father. i think theyre talking about their physical father. their mom taught them to call him "father" instead of "daddy" because he wasnt there for them. he just left. and i DO think that theyre somewhat questioning god. either that, or theyre amazed by his love. "my god, what a world you love" but, thats just my opinion. |
